I remembered that I just blogged about upgrade to Wordpress 2.8.5 last month and after one month, the wordpress developers team had just released the new version Wordpress 2.8.6 security update to all Wordpress users.

What’s Major Difference Between Wordpress 2.8.5 and Wordpress 2.8.6 ?

The latest fixes 2 security problems that can be exploited by registered, logged in users who have posting privileges. Therefore, if your site have untrusted authors, it’s advisable to upgrade to version 2.8.6 to prevent malicious code from being uploaded. Second problem is possibly an issue with sanitizing uploaded file names that can be exploited in certain Apache configurations.

How to upgrade Wordpress 2.8.6 ?

Please refer to my previous post on how to upgrade Wordpress 2.8.5, the process is the same and easy to follow.  Therefore, upgrade your Wordpress to latest version 2.8.6 as quick as possible for better security.
