WordPress is a famous open source blog publishing program in blogosphere where bloggers can easily enhance and manage their blog using tons of free WordPress Plugins available in their plugin directory. Well, you know I’m actually talking about WordPress.org instead of WordPress.com.

WordPress is written in PHP and MySQL database and there are a lot of free and paid WordPress themes available in the web. You can always change the WordPress theme by switching the theme in the admin panel. I have been using WordPress platform to publish all my posts for almost 3 years and I still prefer to use it more than Blogger platform by Google.

Here, I will list top 5 useful WordPress Plugins you should use to enhance your experience in using WordPress platform. I personally use all these 5 WordPress Plugins to manage my blog and I think they have delivered their jobs very well which I would like to recommend to all WordPress users especially new WordPress bloggers.

1)      Akismet – Spam Comment Filter

This is my very first plugin that I ever used and I just love it. Akismet checks the comments to see if there’s any spam comments in your blog before publishing to public. It will automatically help you to catch and filter the suspicious spam comments or trackbacks through Akismet Web Service. However, sometimes Akismet may catch the wrong comments as well but it seldom happens to me. Therefore, occasionally you might need to go Akismet spam comments to release those legit comments and trackbacks mistaken flagged as spam.
