A lot of Maxis users complaint about BOTSMAX or BOTS service that normally charged RM 2.00 every week even you are not using the service. BOTSMAX is only available to Maxis/Hotlink users.
What is BOTS
BOTS service stands for Battle Of The Sexes which is a unique social networking mobile site that offers tournaments based on general knowledge and trivia.
Are you familiar of below BotsMax message?
“RM2. Yr BOTS is renew. U hv Free 200 goldpoints, free games, chat, movies, meet frens. http://www.botsmax.com/maxis. To stop, send stop bots to 27117”
Then, when you have sent stop bots to 27117, it will reply like the below,
“RM0. Click on the link below to unsubscribe. You may still have free games to download. http://www.botsmax.com/maxis/stop.php”
It seems like the message above guides you how to unsubscribe BOTS service but actually the instruction is not clear and confusing. If you type stop bots in non-capitals as instructed, you are still subscribing the BOTS service and you don’t get any notification if the unsubscribe process failed.
How to cancel BOTSMAX Service?
There are several ways to remove Maxis BOTS service:
1) Send STOP BOTS in Capital Letters to 27117
Maxis does not mentioned clearly in BOTS message that you need to use capital letters. To cancel the service simply type STOP>space>BOTS to 27117. You will then receive instructions on how to cancel the service.
2) Email to [email protected]
If you are not able to unsubscribe BOTS service via above method, you can email your phone number to [email protected] and their customer service will stop the subscription for you.
3) Report BOTS problem via Maxis Feedback/Enquiry form
Report BOTSMAX problem at Maxis Feedback form and the operator will call you back within a few days.
4) Ask help from Maxis Facebook page
There’s a discussion topic about how to stop botsmax in the Maxis Facebook discussion where lots of Maxis users managed to unsubscribe BOTSMAX service with the help of Maxis operators. Leave a comment and provide your SIM card number (20 digits) which can be found on the back of your SIM card where the serial number starts with 89600xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Then Maxis operators will help you with the cancellation.
