Let me just do a brief recap for American Idol Season 9 : Atlanta Auditions. The guest judge for Atlanta Audition was R&B legend Mary J. Blige and she gave a lot of constructive advices to the contestants. She’s nice and professional in judging the songs. I personally think that Atlanta Audition was better than Boston Audition in terms of quality of contestants.

“Pants On The Ground” By General Larry Platt

I was laughing while watching his audition, he sang his own original song called “Pants On The Ground”

Song Lyric :
Pants on the ground
Pants on the ground
Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground

With the gold in your mouth
Hat turned sideways
Pants hit the ground call yourself a cool cat
Lookin’ like a fool
Walking down town with your pants on the ground

Get it up, hey!
Get you pants off the ground!
Lookin’ like a fool
Walkin, Talkin with your pants on the ground!

Get it up, hey!
Get your pants off the ground!
Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground

Not only me, all the judges were laughing at his performance. Simon Cowell told Larry that he afraid that this song will become a hit and he was quite right because everyone seems enjoy singing the “Pants On The Ground”

Anyway, General Larry Platt did not win the golden ticket to the Hollywood because he’s over 28 year age limit. His age now is 62 years old. Despite of his vocal, I think the message of the song was great and I’m sure in the AI finale, they will bring him back again for the performance because he was so hilarious. I would really love to hear the song again. Let’s watch the clip below.

Best Atlanta Audition – Jermaine Sellers
I love this guy’s performance when he sang Joan Osborne’s song – What If God Was One of Us. I think he did a smooth, soothing arrangement to the song. He’s a church boy and takes care of his sick mother who suffers from spinal bifida.

Amazing Atlanta Audition – Bryan Walker
Bryan Walker is a real police officer who came for the AI audition. He sang a song called “Superstar” and I must say the voice was great. May be this year’s winner of American Idol is a cop!

After all, Atlanta’s Audition had successfully sent 25 future AI singers to Hollywood. Among them, who were your favorites?
